Boots Reynolds – Book Artist

I struck a home run when the late Boots Reynolds agreed to do the artwork for my books, including the hilarious covers and the cartoons inside. Boots was considered to be the top cowboy humor artist in America. Because he had a huge following, his new works were in high demand. As one friend said, “ He can buck a fella off harder with a paintbrush than any bronc I’ve ever seen!” Maybe that’s because Boots has been down lookin’ up many times himself. Boots was born and raised on the ranches of the Osage country in Oklahoma. He got his education as a cowboy on those ranches. Boots and his wife Becky moved to northern Idaho where he worked full time as an artist. He was a wonderful, kind, truly genuine man, and I always looked forward to hanging out with him.
